Riviera Cab Co. was founded in 2008 by my father, Alberto Perez, with a simple dream: to build an honest transportation company that people could trust.
In the beginning, we had very little. My father bought old cars for around $1,000 each. They broke down often, but he never gave up he repaired every vehicle himself, and I was always by his side helping him. We worked long days, often more than 16 hours, and my father frequently worked close to 20 hours a day to provide for our family.
Our family's story started long before Riviera Cab. When I was just four years old, my dad would wake me up at 2:00 in the morning to help him clean restaurants and office buildings throughout California. He taught me the value of hard work mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, taking out the trash, and loading his black Ford F-150 with supplies and equipment.
When my youngest sister was born, our whole family often went to work together, because it was the only time we had with our father. In those years he worked three jobs and my mother worked too. As I got older I helped care for my sisters and put college on hold to help the family washing dishes, making deliveries, driving taxis, and doing whatever was needed.
There were many hard years when all we had was faith, determination, and prayer. We trusted God to guide us through, and we never gave up on our dreams because slow and steady wins the race.
After 18 years of dedication, sacrifice, and outstanding customer service, Riviera Cab has become one of Santa Barbara's trusted transportation companies.
